Brock Solutions, a key industrial automation partner of Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA), celebrated the successful launch of FCA’s 2020 Jeep® Gladiator (JT) Program which saw the Toledo South Assembly Plant transition from building the Jeep Wrangler JK to the new 2020 JT pickup truck. This process included updating the existing conveying systems and adding new conveyor paths to accommodate the launch in General Assembly.
Under an extremely tight timeline, Brock Solutions provided electrical demolition and installation packages and a complete drives engineering solution in just 12 weeks. Brock Solutions’ scope of work also included PLC and HMI programming, panel build, network design and validation, as well as site installation, commissioning, and go-live support.
Brock Solutions’ size, scale, and ability to handle large automotive programs against tight timelines allowed them to mobilize a team of over 20 engineers that hit the ground running on this large industrial automation solution. The engineered solution combined with rigorous in-house testing and simulation resulted in a very successful installation that required minimal standby-support time following go live. Moreover, working closely with their OEM conveying system partner and a variety of subcontractors, Brock Solutions delivered a successful launch on time and within budget.
“You guys at Brock Solutions did a good job. We have not had issues with the Controls, and you were easy to work with,” said the FCA Maintenance Manager.
Based on the success of this project, Brock Solutions was awarded additional work for Fiat Chrysler in Sterling Heights, Michigan and Brampton, Ontario. Most recently, Brock Solutions was awarded another large project with Fiat Chrysler in Detroit, Michigan, scheduled to go live in mid-2020.
