As British Airways (BA) celebrates its centenary year, Brock Solutions in partnership with Collins Aerospace celebrated the successful roll out of SmartSuite Enterprise on October 8, 2019 through the cloud based deployment which will serve as a network-wide Baggage Management System (BMS) for BA across 200+ worldwide airports.
Brock Solutions’ relationship with BA started in 2018 when BA implemented SmartBag for reconciliation and bag recovery across key airports in North America, Caribbean and Japan. The expansion to SmartSuite Enterprise will allow BA to access more real-time operational dashboards and provide greater visibility and end-to-end tracking of checked baggage across the entire BA network. Supporting IATA753; the BMS will supply a single version of the truth baggage data system to better enable the BA teams to deliver its baggage proposition for their customers and to drive improvements in baggage performance.
Aer Lingus (EI), who are also part of the BA holding company IAG, launched SmartSuite Enterprise in February 2019 as their Baggage Management System, along with SmartBag for reconciliation and recovery for the 86 stations on their network. EI has also answered the commonly asked question of “Where Is My Bag?” by implementing SmartNotify, which allows the passenger to subscribe to receive notifications about the status of their checked baggage throughout their journey.
